The last place you want to put your brand-new 4K TV is on top of a wobbly little table that barely has enough room for the base of your TV. It's not a good look, and it's even less safe. Never mind the risks to your gaming TV should it fall over, but a big-screen device falling over is downright dangerous. So, don't settle for just any old TV stand simply because it's available if it isn't a fit for your TV.
A good TV stand will help ensure your TV has a solid place to live. And, a great TV stand can go even further beyond that. Many TV stands will offer plenty in the way of organization, letting you tuck away your Xbox Series X and PS5 while also squeezing in an AV receiver. They can even help sort out some of the cable management, so you don't end up with a mess of cables that's just as much of a hazard as an overly diminutive TV stand. We'll guide you through a variety of top-notch TV stands that can help you get your setup in order, whether that's a dozen devices or just the TV itself.

1. Modway Mid-Century TV Stand
Best TV Stand for Small Sets
Want to keep it simple in your living room with a classy little number that won’t make your TV and entertainment center the entire centerpiece of the space? The Modway Mid-Century TV Stand is what you’ll want. This stylish stand is a great fit for the likes of a 48-to-55-inch TV, which really gives you plenty of options to pair it with.
The stand may not be perfect if you intend to kit it out with a half-dozen game consoles, though. You’ll find four compartments inside the stand with ports to allow you to easily run cables between devices and your TV up above. However, because the stand is just 17 inches tall (including the height of its legs) and 13.5 inches deep, the compartments would be a bit cozy for some modern consoles. If you do plan to have some consoles, you may want to stick with a smaller TV and plan to put your consoles on top of the stand as well, or consider one of the more spacious TV stands on this guide.
2. Castlery Luka TV Stand
Best TV Stand for Medium Sets
Two of the most common TV sizes most people buy are either 55- or 65-inch and if you've followed the crowd in this trend, you'll want a mid-sized TV stand like the Castlery Luka. At 70.8-inches wide, it's neither too big or small for most living rooms.
It also has a great aesthetic with its walnut finish and slotted door design that both hides away your devices and provides plenty of ventilation for them. Since this TV stand also hugs the ground with its low stance, you won't have to worry about covering up your cable clutter either.
3. Sonorous Studio ST-160B
Best TV Stand for Large Sets
Here's a much more conservative option most of the other TV stand featured on this list. By all outward appearances, the Sonorous Studio ST-160B will look like a big wooden cabinet or block your gaming TV is simply standing on top of. If you're going for a clean aesthetic or just want everyone to focus on the massive 75-inch 4K TV you just bought, this is the perfect media console to complement it. Alternatively, this TV stand is so wide it should have enough space for your big-screen while also giving you enough space to prominently display either or both of the next-gen consoles.
In case you're worried that completely opaque front fascia is going to stop you from controlling your streaming box and other devices, the Sonorous Studio ST-160B comes with an integrated infrared repeater, allowing you to control up to eight devices without having to drop down front panel. Behind the entertainment cabinet's large front panel there are six large compartments with an almost completely open back, giving your devices plenty of room for ventilation and cable management. Speaking of cables, there are routing holes in between each compartment and even one behind the TV, which should help make your setup look clean and clutter-free.
4. Ikea BRIMNES
Best Cheap TV Stand
We know, when you hear budget you instantly think of Ikea and how it'll fall apart the second you move it, but hear us out. The Ikea BRIMNES would be a great TV stand even if it costs 10 times as much. It's pretty big for starters at 70-inches wide, which will let you set up any of the common large 65-inch 4K TVs that are available now. Things get even better when you take a look inside at its three bays for AV equipment and consoles, plus it has three big draws for your physical games and media.
There's also some clever cable management holes and slots throughout allowing you to run the majority of cables inside including your power strip. Best of all this TV stand comes at an absolute bargain of only $120.
5. BDI Furniture Corridor Low Media Cabinet
Best High-End TV Stand
This TV stand isn't cheap, but if you have all the consoles from this generation and the last, and also some other stuff you need to store, the Corridor Low Media Cabinet from BDI Furniture can swallow them all. It is big and wide enough to make even an 85-inch TV look like it belongs in your living room. Behind those slatted doors, the BDI Corridor features six spacious compartments each with its own cut-out to run cables to the television perched on top.
The media cabinet itself weighs 208 and it can support another 175 on top of that, but even when fully loaded it's still easy to move around thanks a set of hidden wheels. If you want to keep as many as nine consoles tucked away in an attractive chocolate-stained walnut cabinet and have a big TV, this is a great choice.
6. Ikea VITTSJÖ
Best Open-Air TV Stand
For a cleaner, simpler aesthetic in your home, the Ikea VITTSJÖ provides ample space for your media center equipment without dominating the space. Ikea has gone for a straightforward, squared-off design that’s got an open back and open sides. The stand is built on a metal frame for durability, but the middle shelf is actually glass, contributing even more to the open-air design.
The design will make it easy to wire up electronics on the stand, as you can easily reach right through to power outlets behind it. But, you don’t have to settle for a web of wires exposed behind the stand. Ikea was thoughtful enough to include a number of adhesive cable clips that let you route and hide your TV and electronics cables along the frame of the stand. Just keep in mind that this is a smaller stand, and the top panel is intended to hold 66 pounds at most, so it’s a safer bet for 55-inch TVs and smaller.
7. Husky Mount Mobile TV Stand
Best Rolling TV Stand
While most of us are probably content to have our TV live in one spot all the time, maybe you like to keep your life and living space a little bit more dynamic. In that case, the Husky Mount Mobile TV Stand will be your friend. Not only does this stand come on locking caster wheels to let you move your TV all around your home, but it also features plenty of adjustment opportunities on the stand itself. You can lower your TV down to floor level, raise it up a bit for comfortable couch viewing, or even raise the center point for the mount up to 58 inches. Since the TV mount can tilt up or down, you can also easily eliminate glare.
The Husky Mobile TV Stand is built with big TVs in mind, as it has the flexibility to hold up to 70-inch TVs weighing up to 132 pounds and it has mounting holes for up to 600mm x 400mm VESA mounts. The stand's steel tubes feature cable management routing, so you don't have to have cables dangling down from the TV. The assembly also includes a small stand you can use to hold a media player or laptop underneath the TV.
8. Monoprice Commercial Series Easel TV Stand
Best Minimalist TV Stand
A minimalist aesthetic might not allow for a lot of furniture, and the large media centers that tend to sit under a TV wouldn't contribute well to that style. But, you don't want to just toss your TV on the floor and may not want it up high on a mantle – your neck won't want that, at least. The Monoprice Commercial Series Easel TV Stand can help sort out the situation with a simple design that takes up minimal space while giving your TV a touch of added grace.
The easel stand has a simple tripod base, but it can hold up even 77-pound TVs and supports up to 65-inch models. You'll find a VESA mount on the top of the easel that will adapt to a wide range of display mounts, including those with VESA mounting points from 200x200 up to 600x400. Once you've got your TV set up on the easel stand, you'll be able to swivel it around 360-degrees, giving you some flexibility in how you view it. And, the stand has cable management along the legs, so you don't have to worry about a dangling power cable disrupting the aesthetic.
9. Ikea Kallax
Best Side TV Stand
If you already have your television setup on cabinet or wall mount and you're looking for another piece of furniture to discreetly hold your other devices, then check out the Ikea Kallax. This minimalistic 1 x 4 shelf fits into almost any room and won't clash with any of your other furniture. It'll look great sitting right underneath your wall-mounted set or right next to your TV stand.
The internal dimensions of each square shelf measure 13 x 15 x 13 inches, so you've got plenty of space to put either the Xbox Series X or PS5 (with the base removed) inside of them. The size of the shelves also happens to be perfect for holding all your records.
10. Monarch Specialties Dark Taupe TV Stand
Best TV Stand for the PS5 and Xbox Series X
So, you need the perfect TV stand for your brand-spanking new game consoles. Unfortunately, the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 aren't as compact as their predecessors, and that can make it a bit harder to fit them in well with your media console. The Monarch Specialties TV stand makes for a good fit though (and the Dark Taupe color helps stay platform agnostic).
The Monarch Specialties TV stand has a unique cutout section below where your TV would stand. Thanks to this gap in the shelving, it actually has enough space to accommodate either Sony's or Microsoft's console standing upright. Meanwhile, an open section at the right side of the stand can also provide the room you need to stand up a second console. There's also plenty of space if you wanted to set up both or either of your consoles on their sides. The TV stand includes a small drawer that's ready for your accessories to hide away in. And, don't worry, even with an Xbox Series X and a PlayStation 5 set up on this stand, there's room for a Nintendo Switch dock as well.
